Is Season 2 Officially Confirmed?

My Dress-up Darling season 2 has not been officially confirmed. There are lots of false information spreading about the season 2 confirmation, however, neither the anime studio CloverWorks, nor the official website has confirmed a new season of the series.

Is Season 2 Even Possible?

The anime series is based on a manga written and drawn by Shinichi Fukuda. As we said in our article for Ranking of Kings season 2 article, the sequel for any anime depends on 2 major factors. First, the popularity of the series, and 2nd is the source material.

My Dress-up Darling is rated 4.8/5 on Crunchyroll, and 8.47/10 on MyAnimeList. If you are not familiar with these ratings, I can assure you that these ratings are unusually high. On several weekly anime ranking forums, My Dress-up Darling even beat Attack on Titan and Demon Slayer, so popularity factor is not an issue whatsoever.

2nd major factor is the source material (manga), and fortunately there is enough source material to make a new 12 episode season. There are currently 78 manga chapters released, and the 1st season adapted till chapter 39 of the manga. Studio CloverWorks could easily make a 12 episode season from the remaining manga chapters.

Season 2 Release Date

My Dress-up Darling season 2 will most likely air in mid 2023. As discussed earlier, both the major factors to get an anime sequel checks out, so it is only a matter of time before CloverWorks officially confirms season 2 of the series.

Where To Read Manga After Anime?

Not everyone has the patience to wait for 2 years to get a season 2. Most of you will be thinking about picking up the manga where season 1 left off. However, a question arises about whether you should really read the manga? Is the manga art good enough to enjoy as much as anime?

To clear all the doubts, the manga art is brilliant. You can start reading from chapter 40, but, I would like you to read from chapter 1 because anime has skipped a lot of content from the manga. Also, as there are only 39 chapters left, you will consume them quite quickly. Good News is that the manga is still ongoing, so you will get updates weekly. Although, the mangaka takes a break after every 3 chapters.
