The series is now just a few months away from premiering, and there’s a lot of buzz going around. A recent tweet claiming that One Piece’s live-action budget is reportedly higher than Game of Thrones and The Mandalorian went viral.
It’s said that one episode of the One Piece live-action series costs 18 million dollars to make. In comparison, other series on this list cost about 15 million dollars per episode.

Do we know about the total production budget of One Piece Live Action?
The exact production budget for the One Piece live-action series hasn’t been officially revealed since the project was announced in 2017.
However, in May 2022, Richard Bridgland, the production designer of the One Piece live-action series, hinted that the budget is on par with a Marvel movie.
The most expensive film ever made in the Marvel Cinematic Universe is Avengers: Endgame, which reportedly had a budget of $356 million. According to numbers.com, the budget for most Marvel films ranges between $150 million and $250 million.
If Richard Bridgland’s statement is true and the One Piece live-action series does have a budget similar to a Marvel movie, fans can expect a high level of production. Given that the series will have eight episodes, if we speculate a budget of $150 million, each episode will cost about $18.75 million. This is $3.75 million more per episode than Game of Thrones and The Mandalorian.
The One Piece live-action series is set to debut on Netflix on August 31, 2023. It’s clear that the cast is passionate about the project, as seen in their reactions to the trailer. Eiichiro Oda, the creator of One Piece, is also heavily involved in the production.
