Rent a Girlfriend’s Kazuya just how desperate can you get?
Rent-A-Girlfriend has seen a few ups and downs in its nearly six years of serialization; unfortunately, more ups than downs.
In the past, Kazuya, the series’ main character, has gotten criticism from just about everyone in the anime community, and rightfully so! The manga’s most recent controversy even had people tagging Mangaka, Reiji Miyajima on Twitter, voicing just how upset they are with the series’ direction.
In short, Kazuya is no stranger to being pathetic, but compared to his past endeavors, what he’s done now is just plain silly. Featured in the first few pages of chapter 287, Kazuya can be seen on his phone asking ChatGPI, an obvious knockoff of ChatGPT, “What’s the best way to get into a relationship with a girl you like?”
The A.I. does its best to answer the question under regular circumstances, but as we all know, what Kazuya has going on is far from normal circumstances!
Although the series is now nearly 300 chapters in, it seems that Kazuya is still just as lost as he was in chapter 1. Which is concerning, especially after Miyajima had this to say about Kazuya’s personality.
Rent A Girlfriend anime series will be coming back with the third season this season and it is one of the top 10 highest anticipated anime of Summer 2023.
