10. Zom 100: Bucket List of The Dead

One Word, Zombie Anime. Zom 100: Bucket List of The Dead is an upcoming and new anime series by the renowned author of the Alice In Borderland Series, Haro Aso.

The series will be taking a different route from Aso’s usual way of storytelling. Studio Bug Films will be taking the role of animating the series, and it is set to release on July 9th, 2023.

Zom 100 takes place in a world full of zombies and follows the story of a salaryman named Akira Tendou, who is tired of his job. When he sees the rise of the zombie apocalypse all over, he lets out a sigh of relief as he won’t be going to the job anymore.

But little does he know that he is borderline delusional about this situation. The zombie apocalypse gave him one thing, to find a reason for living.

9. My Happy Marriage

My Happy Marriage is a new anime series that will be adapted by studio Kinema Citrus, known for numerous anime like Rising of The Shield Hero and Made In Abyss. It will be adapted from a novel bearing the same name by Akumi Agitogi.

The story follows a daughter of the noble family, Miyo Saimori, who is married off to a heartless soldier named Kiyoka Kudou, whose prior fiance supposedly ran away due to his coldness and heartlessness.

Although Kiyoka is heartless, Miyo slowly wants to open her heart to her cold husband. This story of twists and development of their relationship is a must-watch for Drama anime fans.

The anime is set to release on July 5th, 2023, and the main characters will be respectively voiced by Reina Ueda and Kaito Ishikawa.

8. Alice to Therese no Maboroshi Koujou

“Alice to Therese no Maboroshi Koujou” is an upcoming movie produced by studio MAPPA and will be directed by the veteran director Mari Okada, who worked on numerous anime before.

Alice to Therese is one of the most anticipated anime movies of all time, as MAPPA teased the movie 1.5 years ago and has been quiet since then. So fans have high expectation from the film.

A teaser trailer was released at MAPPA Stage 2021. The movie is set to release on September 15, 2023.

The anime will follow a middle school student named Masamune, who finds himself trapped with no way out after a catastrophic explosion in the town’s steel mill. Time stands still for that town, and the residents of that town are forbidden to make any changes.

The story takes a turn when a classmate of Masamune, Mutsumi, leads him to the fifth furnace of the steel mill. There, they encounter a girl who cannot speak and resembles a wild wolf.

The arrival of these two girls disrupts the world’s delicate equilibrium, unleashing an uncontrollable “urge of love” from boys and girls worn out by their monotonous lives. This unleashed desire begins to dismantle the world around them.

7. The Girl I Like Forgot Her Glasses

The Girl I Like Forgot Her Glasses, or “Sukinako” for short, is an upcoming romance anime adapted from a manga bearing the same name, written and drawn by Koume Fujichika. Studio GoHands, known for the ‘K’ series, will animate the series. The anime is set to air on July 4, 2023.

The premise and art style of the anime is something to be noted, and the animation quality of the anime is clean and crisp, judging from the recent trailer.

The anime will follow a school student named Kaede Komura, who starts his new year at the school, and with the new year comes a new homeroom and new classmates. Kaede, immensely nervous, lays his eyes on his gorgeous seatmate, Mei, and instantly his nervousness fades away.

With her tendency to blurt out random things, Mei wears thick glasses highlighting her beautiful eyes, causing Komura’s heart to skip a beat. However, there is a snag: Mei suffers from chronic forgetfulness and never seems to bring her glasses to school, resulting in a squinty, slightly intimidating expression that captivates Komura’s heart.

Rent-a-Girlfriend Season 3 will be a direct continuation to the second season of the romance series, which will be animated by TMS Entertainment and premiered on 8th July 2023.

5. Horimiya: The Missing Pieces

Now, two and a half years later, Horimiya is getting a new adaptation called Horimiya: The Missing Pieces that will be adapted yet again by Studio Cloverworks, including little changes to the staff.

Horimiya: The Missing Pieces will adapt the parts of the manga that were left out in the previous adaptation, including the popular side stories petitioned by fans. The anime is set to air on 1st July 2023 and will consist of 11 episodes.

The first season of the anime was adapted from a Light Novel by Rifujin No Magonote that emerged from nowhere and was animated by a studio called ‘Studio Bind’, which was solely created to animate Mushoku Tensei.

Surprisingly, he gains consciousness and finds himself reincarnated in a world unfamiliar as a newborn baby, Rudeus Greyrat, giving him a new chance not to repeat his past life mistakes.

In a world full of magic and swords, Rudeus inaugurates his life with a new identity and a chance to meet multiple individuals from the new world.

1. Jujutsu Kaisen – Season 2

Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 is undoubtedly the most awaited Summer 2023 anime season, as the fan-favorite manga arcs will be adopted. But some fans are concerned about the animation quality and pacing since there will be a new director.

The first season’s director, Seong-Hoo Park, left studio MAPPA to form their own studio. Shouta Goshozono, a veteran animator in the industry, will direct the second season of the anime.

This will be his first major debut as a director. The second season of the anime will introduce tons of new characters and will adapt the ‘Hidden Inventory’ and ‘Shibuya Incident’ arcs.
