Attack on Titan is arguably one of the greatest anime of the decade, filled with unexpected plot twists, action, and adventure, whether it be deep quotes or being able to resonate with the characters.

The anime is a masterpiece based on the manga written by Hajime Isiyama. The series is set in a fictional world where humanity is believed to be restricted to a small island surrounded by giant walls. Outside of these walls reside the man-eating titans who constantly try to break open the wall to have a human meat party.

To fight them, we were introduced to many characters having great power and intelligence. Here are the top 15 strongest characters in the Attack on Titan universe.

16: Gabi Braun

Who would have thought that a kid no more than 15 years old would be able to kill not 1 or 2 but 3 major Attack on Titan characters.

Gabi Braun is a skilled marleyan soldier who is gifted with exceptional snipping skills. Gabi first killed Sasha which was a devastating blow to Paradise’s forces.

Next, Gabi snipped Eren Yeager with the anti-titan gun as he was moments away from meeting with Zeke to activate rumbling. Although Zeke was able to catch Eren’s head, the skill of hitting a moving target so precisely is why Gabi has made it into this list.

She also snipped Floch Forster, who was going to blow up the ship that was going to be used by the Alliance to reach Eren and stop the rumbling.

15: Historia Reiss

The 15th spot on this list is secured by the current queen of Paradise, Historia. She has proven to be one of the best in the cadet corps by securing a spot in the top 10 soldiers of the 104th cadet corps.

She played a major role in taking down Rod Reiss, who was going to destroy the Orvud district. To save Paradis Island, she was willing to sacrifice herself.

14: Armin Arlert

Armin’s Colossal Titan could destroy armies by just moving around, and we also saw a demonstration of his power when Armin destroyed Marley’s whole fleet.

Apart from his intelligence, what sets Armin apart from the rest of the characters is his sheer willpower and strength, when most people would not even think about coming close to the Colossal Titan.

Armin was the one who threw himself in harm’s way so that Eren and the others can successfully execute their plans even knowing that there was no way he could have avoided his own death. Even after getting almost killed by the heat waves emitted by the Colossal Titan, his desire to see the ocean with Eren and Mikasa kept him alive for some time.

13: Connie Springer

Connie wasn’t a strong soldier or even a great strategist. However, over time, he overcame his fears and became one of an integral part of the Survey Corps.

Through sheer hard work and dedication, Connie has now developed himself into one of the strongest soldiers and was important in taking down the Yeagerist at the port.

12: Jean Kirstein

Jean is neither an Ackerman nor a Titan shifter, but he had what most people often don’t have and that is the ability to remain calm during difficult situations and being able to derive a plan which can be executed smoothly even in difficult times.

He was one of the characters who had a very good character development throughout the series. From being a person who wants to live a peaceful and easy life in the interior to constantly putting his life on the line to protect others, Jean has come a long way.

11: Floch Forster

Now, most of you will be thinking how Floch Forster is so high in Attack on Titan’s strongest characters list. It is true that alongside Gabi, Floch is one of the most disliked characters of the series because of his questionable actions to take over the Paradise Government by force.

He was also a coward back when Beast Titan destroyed his all companions, but he has come a long way after that.

In his last fight, again all his companions were taken down, but this time instead of hiding, he faced his death head-on. He managed to fight against Hange Zoe, Falco’s Jaw Titan and Cart Titan at the same time. Eventually, he was injured by Gabi but the fight scene was enough to know that Floch deserves his name in this list.

10: Erwin Smith

Erwin Smith was arguably the smartest commander in the Attack on Titan verse. When nobody on the island even knew about titan shifters, he was the only one that knew that there might be humanity outside the walls and the fact that the government was covering up this secret.

Whether it be facing the armored Titan with one hand or charging in on the beast titan he has never backed down and proved that he was a man of sheer determination and commitment.

9: Kenny Ackerman

You know you are strong when humanity’s strongest soldier is afraid to face you head-on. Levi admitted to himself that Kenny was equal to or stronger than him.

After all, he is an Ackerman. Not to mention, he was a ruthless assassin who even killed 100 military soldiers. He was the one who trained Levi when he was alone after his mother’s death. He definitely deserves a spot in the list of “Top 10 strongest characters in Attack on Titan”

8: Annie Leonhart

Even before it was revealed that she is the female Titan, Annie was one of the strongest in the 104 cadet corps. She was ranked 4th in the 104th batch of the cadet corps.

In her titan form, she killed a lot of soldiers while In her pursuit to capture Eren. Her martial art fighting ability was second to none. Even the entire Levi squad wasn’t successful in taking her down.

7: Reiner Braun

Reiner inherited the armored Titan from its previous user at the mere age of 10, not to forget that he is military-trained personnel.

Reiner was the one who broke the outer gate of wall Maria which led to the demolition of Shiganshina and caused the demise of Eren’s mom.

He has been beaten up by a lot of characters, including getting destroyed by Eren’s Attack Titan a couple of times. However, his willpower is strong enough that he was always able to fight back in the end.

6: Zeke Yeager

This list wouldn’t be complete without mentioning Zeke Yeager. Zeke is the half-brother of Eren. He is Marley’s commander and probably the strongest titan shifter in Marley.

He dealt the most devastating blow to the survey corps, killing more than 98% of their troops. He also played a major role in the attack on Marley. His beast titan power is a formidable weapon that can destroy armies even before they are close enough to attack.

5: Mikasa Ackerman

Next on our strongest Attack on Titan characters list is Mikasa Ackerman, who is probably the second strongest human in the series, excluding the titan shifters. She has been an integral part of the survey corps. Ever since she was a child she was exceptionally strong thanks to her Ackerman genes.

Eren Yeager was strong even before he learned to control all his abilities due to his Titan. Even in season 2, He defeated Reiner alone if it wasn’t for Bertholdt. After inheriting the War Hammer Titan nobody in the series even comes close to defeating Eren.
