The Jujutsu Kaisen manga appears to be approaching its end, but the conflict between the sorcerers and Sukuna is far from over. Sukuna continues to evolve and eliminate sorcerers who stand in his way.

Initially, Sukuna did the unthinkable: he eliminated the most powerful sorcerer, Gojo Satoru, using a technique that literally cuts through worlds and dimensions.
Similarly, in a recent chapter, Hajime Kashimo, “aka Thunder God,” met his end at Sukuna’s hands after Sukuna revealed his true form.
Seeing that the sorcerers are being defeated by the hand of Sukuna one by one, Yuji Itadori and Higuruma Hiromi make an entrance on the battlefield in Jujutsu Kaisen chapter 238.
Additionally, readers found something strange about Yuji’s arms. They appear to be different as compared to his last appearance, as if his hands have evolved, hinting it might have something to do with Sukuna dwelling in his body for a considerable amount of time.
Sukuna’s Influence on Yuji’s Body
Sukuna resided inside of Yuji’s body for quite a while. It is likely that this occurrence had some consequences on Yuji’s body as well.
Even after Sukuna’s exit, a trace of his cursed energy might still be present in Yuji’s body.
Sukuna’s cursed energy remains in Yuji’s body, which might be resonating with Sukuna and his soul as a whole. Sukuna’s transformation to his true form might be having an influence on Yuji’s body as well.
Sukuna reverted back to his original form by changing the shape of his soul. In other words, Yuji might be trying to do the same and forcefully alter his soul in order to mimic Sukuna and transform it into a perfect vessel of jujutsu.
Absorbing Sukuna’s cursed energy and ingesting cursed objects may have led Yuji to develop a new cursed technique, as indicated by his altered arm in the latest chapter.

Yuji Itadori’s New Power: Soul Manipulation
Mahito has a very fascinating ability, which allows him to change the shape of his soul in order to make it more durable and more powerful.
In the early chapters, in the battle between Mahito and Yuji, Yuji was able to inflict damage on Mahito’s soul, which is something even Nanami couldn’t accomplish.
Furthermore, Yuji still has Yuki’s research papers on the topic of souls, and Yuji, being one of the few characters who can understand the concept of souls, might have gained valuable insight from the research papers.
Many manga readers believe that Yuji has the potential to swap his soul with another person, referring to soul manipulation, which was hinted at in chapter 222.
With all this understanding of souls, it is likely that Yuji, using his knowledge of souls, is making a better vessel that might have a fighting chance against Sukuna and be capable enough to hold his own against him.

Can Yuji win against Sukuna?
The fight between Yuji Itadori and Sukuna is yet to happen, and It is still very early to say whether he can or can’t beat Sukuna.
As we already know, Yuji might have a fragment of Sukuna’s cursed energy still dwelling inside of him, and this might give him an advantage while fighting Sukuna.
When Gojo used the purple technique against Sukuna, Gojo was in its target range as well, but the damage he received was less than the amount of damage that was inflicted on Sukuna, the reason being that it was Gojo’s cursed energy.

Applying this logic to the fight between Yuji and Sukuna, there’s a chance that Yuji might receive less damage from Sukuna, the reason being Sukuna’s cursed energy is still lingering inside of Yuji.
This could give Yuji the stamina to hold his own until reinforcements arrive or even evolve to a point where he could defeat Sukuna.
While it’s unlikely that this advantage will be enough to eliminate Sukuna, it could certainly allow Yuji to inflict substantial damage.
