Solo Leveling fans, brace yourselves for an exciting expansion of the beloved manhwa universe! With the original series having concluded a few months ago, the franchise is showing no signs of slowing down. In addition to an anime adaptation and a game adaptation in development, we’ve now learned that a spin-off manhwa series is on the horizon.
Titled “Solo Leveling: Ragnarok,” the spin-off series is set to begin serialization on April 10, 2023. And fear not, this isn’t an April Fool’s joke gone awry. The news comes directly from the official YouTube channel of KakaoPage, the digital platform responsible for publishing Solo Leveling and other webtoons.
Early details on “Solo Leveling: Ragnarok” indicate that the new manhwa will follow the adventures of Sung Jin-Woo’s son, Sung Su-Ho. The story, penned by Chugong, the original Solo Leveling web novel author, is sure to keep fans enthralled. Although the untimely passing of Dubu, the artist behind Solo Leveling, means the art may differ from the original, Redice Studio (whose CEO was Dubu) remains in charge of the project. This ensures that other artists who worked alongside Dubu will continue to shape the visual world of “Solo Leveling: Ragnarok.”
Solo Leveling: Ragnarok page on the Kakao website also features a countdown which is set to end on April 10, 2023. The spin-off series logo can also be witnessed.
Beyond the spin-off manhwa, the Solo Leveling franchise has two major projects in the pipeline:
Solo Leveling Game
Netmarble is currently developing an action RPG called “Solo Leveling: Arise,” set to be available on both PC and mobile platforms. While an exact release date is still under wraps, the game is officially slated for a 2023 launch.
Solo Leveling Anime
A-1 Pictures studio is hard at work on a Solo Leveling anime adaptation, with Crunchyroll providing a Winter 2024 anime season release window. Fans can expect the series to premiere around January 2024.
With the Solo Leveling franchise in full swing, there’s never been a better time to be a fan. Are you pumped for the upcoming spin-off manhwa? Share your thoughts in the comments below!
