Previously, a post went viral on Chinese social media platform where Daki wore pants against her fight with Tanjiro. Now, a new screenshot has been trending on Twitter, taken from Chinese streaming service, Bilibili. In the screenshot, we can see Sound Hashira’s three wives, that is, Suma, Makio and Hinatsuru. In the original scene, they can be seen in the quite revealing outfit.

In the Chinese version of Demon Slayer, this outfit has been modified to cover the full chest area. According to some social media users, Chinese censored version is better than the original one, as there is no need of showing cleavage at this scene.

Fake Censorship

Despite the strict censorship rules of China, anime censorship is not just limited to 1 country. In fact, many other countries have a history of censoring anime. For example, South Korea has previously censored My Dress Up Darling, Malaysia has censored Attack on Titan manga series.

The demon Slayer anime is based on a manga series written and illustrated by Koyoharu Gotouge. The author started writing Demon Slayer manga in Feb 2016 in Weekly Shonen Jump magazine. The manga ended its serialization in 2020 with all the manga chapters collected in 23 volumes. Studio Ufotable picked up the manga series for an anime adaptation, which aired in April 2019. Season 3 of the series is currently in production.

Viz media describe the Demon Slayer manga as follow:

His little sister Nezuko is the only survivor, but she has been transformed into a demon herself!
