Spoilers and raw scans of chapter 237 of Jujutsu Kaisen have dropped, and fans are more anxious than ever. Since the shock of the last chapters, the question on everyone’s mind is: Any news on Gojo’s revival?
The last two chapters, 235 and 236, were a roller coaster for manga readers. The long-lasting battle between Gojo and Sukuna was expected to end in chapter 235 with Gojo’s victory as he was dominating the fight even against three enemies simultaneously.
However, chapter 236 flipped the switch with Gojo not just being defeated but also looking like he was gone for good after his body was split in half. But let’s not forget, this is a shonen manga, where major characters rarely ever really die.
So, did Jujutsu Kaisen chapter 237 drop any hints on Gojo’s status?
Jujutsu Kaisen: Current Status of Gojo?
As of chapter 237, Gojo is still presumably dead. According to the spoilers and raw scans for chapter 237, the focus has shifted entirely to Sukuna and his new rival, Thunder God, Kishimo. Sukuna is now in his original, most potent form.
In the previous chapter, Gojo revealed that he was unsure that he would have defeated Sukuna even if Sukuna wasn’t using Mahoraga. This speaks volumes of how powerful the King of Curses actually is. Now that he has taken his true form, defeating him will take someone even more powerful than Gojo.
Gojo is nowhere to be seen in the chapter. Some fans are even theorizing that his body has been moved from its original place on the battlefield.
Akutami Gege has pulled similar moves before.
Take Nobara, for instance; she had wounds similar to Gojo during the Shibuya Incident Arc. Rather than give a conclusive answer on her status, Akutami Gege has left her fate up in the air.
It seems Jujutsu Kaisen has a similar path in mind for Gojo. The plot will advance with other characters at the forefront, keeping Gojo’s fate uncertain.
There are many theories that still give hope to Gojo fans about his resurrection, but even if Gojo is to come back, it won’t be soon.
In order for Jujutsu Kaisen’s plot to move forward, Gojo had to go so that Yuji could get the spotlight. After all, he is the main character of Jujutsu Kaisen.
As of this writing, both Nobara and Gojo remain in a state of uncertainty, while Megumi Fushiguro is incapacitated. The stage is now set for Yuji Itadori, the main character of Jujutsu Kaisen, to step up.
