One Piece manga has recently brought into focus one of the biggest enigma of this series, the God Valley Incident.
The alliance between Roger and Garp, the mystery of Rocks D. Xebec, and many other mysteries are tied to the God Valley Incident.

What is the God Valley Incident?
God Valley Incident was first mentioned in chapter 907 of the manga (which was released in 2018). The word was brought up during the interaction between Big Mom and Kaido, where Big Mom reminded Kaido of the debt he owed to her during God Valley Incident.
Eiichiro Oda, the series creator, has been dropping new information about God Valley since then.
About 38 years ago, a hardcore fight occurred on the island “God Valley,” which hardly any people remember.
This incident was the battle between the Rocks Pirates and the Marine-Pirate alliance (Garp and Roger).
Rocks Pirates raided this island because an event was underway on God Valley called the “Native Hunting Competition.”
During this competition, Celestial Dragons released their slaves on an island (God Valley, in this case) and hunted them down. These slaves also included Kuma, Ivankov, and Ginny.
Kuma was the only member of the Buccaneer family that the World Government captured. He, just like every other slave, was abused physically and mentally by Celestial Dragons and the Five Elders.
Ginny managed to leak the information about this incident to some of the notorious pirates of that time.
The prizes for the winners included Devil Fruits of different varieties. Rocks Pirates aimed to hunt down the Celestial Dragons and get the prized Devil Fruits for themselves, which Garp and Roger’s crew joined forces to stop!
Kaido received his mythical devil fruit during this incident, which was gifted to him by Big Mom after she stole it from Ivankov.
Kuma’s origin was also revealed during this incident, as Ivankov and Ginny saved him from the Gorousei.
He ate his Paw-Paw Devil fruit, which was one of the prizes of this Hunting Competition, just like Kaido’s.
Rocks Pirates were another crucial part of this incident. Luckily, the information regarding this notorious group has been released in the previous chapters of One Piece.

“Rocks Pirates” was the most dangerous pirate crew in history. It had pirates with the highest bounties, thus making it one of the strongest crews no one messed with.
Rocks D. Xebec, a mysterious pirate, started the crew, whose abilities are still unknown today. He gathered the strongest pirates present on the Grand Line and created a crew like none other.

Mysteries Surrounding The God Valley Incident
Despite this event being one of the most brutal events in One Piece, there are several mysteries that fans are expecting to be unveiled in the upcoming chapters.
First is the mystery of the leader of Rocks Pirates, Rocks D. Xebec.
Although he is one of the most dangerous pirates in One Piece’s history, there is no information regarding his abilities or family connections.
Second is the alliance between Roger and Garp. Garp, with a tight code of conduct, partnering up with a pirate has intrigued fans for quite a while.
For those who don’t remember, Garp fostered Roger’s son “Ace,” so there must have been some terms between this Marine-Pirate Alliance.
Third is the mystery surrounding Shanks‘ origin. Saint Fingerland Garling, the Supreme Commander of God Knights, is participating in the Native Hunting Competition.
As Garling is a World Noble, and Shanks has also been revealed to be noble of the same “Fingerland family” (as revealed in Volume 4 Billion), they might be related more closely than you think.

Fourth is the mystery surrounding the disappearance of God Valley. After the God Valley Incident ended, the island vanished into thin air.
To this day, no one knows about this incident or the island where it took place. This might be related to the disappearance of the Lulusia Kingdom, as Imu removed it with a mysterious weapon “Mother Flame”.

The Climax of God Valley Incident
This fight resulted in the defeat of Rocks Pirates, after which the pirate crew disbanded. Garp received his title “Hero of the Marines” after this incident. Roger’s involvement in this incident was also covered.
As for Kuma and Ginny, they traveled to the Sorbet Kingdom after this incident. Kuma became a Pastor here, as he helped elderly people relieve their pain with the help of his devil’s fruit.
After sailing away from God Valley, the Roger Pirates found a mystery chest on their ship. Inside this chest was a baby, who we now know as the Emperor of the Sea, Shanks.
